Testimonial Tuesday

My daughter has multiple complex learning and other disabilities, which made reading a seemingly impossible goal and feat. She became engulfed by anxiety and started avoiding books all together. We met with Rachel and I appreciated her clarity and expertise in explaining my daughters multi-layer challenges and the work that lay ahead. She was direct, honest, and made no hollow promises. Her serious approach reassured me that she’s a true educator, worthy of our trust. The greatest benefit from our time at LFA, was that my daughter was able to read, i.e. decode words and comprehend what they mean. Most importantly for me, she actually enjoys reading and listening to short stories, which is such a turnaround from avoiding words/text/stories/books across all contexts. While no one can predict anyone’s limits, that she derives joy from stories means everything to me. -S.K. mom of a 10 year-old student
