Our Story

Learning for All began with one family's search for answers—and grew into a place where people of all ages can become stronger, more confident, and more independent learners and thinkers.

It Started With One Learner

Learning for All began the way many journeys do, with a worried parent trying to help their child. My middle son was bright, curious, and full of potential, but behind that spark, he was struggling. School was becoming harder each year. We were told to “wait and see.” Some concerns were dismissed. Other times we received answers that didn’t quite fit and we tried therapies that didn’t move the needle. Meanwhile, his confidence quietly slipped away. By the time he approached middle school, he was significantly behind in reading and writing. What looked like a learning gap had become a full-blown crisis — not just academically, but emotionally. â€‹

We were often told "he will grow out of it."

When we finally received clarity — dyslexia, ADHD, and auditory processing disorder — everything made sense and everything changed. I made the difficult decision to step away from my university teaching position so I could focus on helping him full time. I trained in an Orton-Gillingham based approach to remediate dyslexia, determined to give him the support he had always needed. Slowly, things began to shift. He started making real progress. Reading became less overwhelming and writing became possible. But even more powerful than the academic growth, was the return of his confidence, the piece that was not measurable on tests but could be seen by many. For the first time in years, he began to believe in himself again.

The experience taught me something that continues to shape Learning for All today: struggling learners often do not need more of the same instruction. They need someone to understand how they are processing information, identify the skills getting in the way, and teach in a way their brain can use.

He was finally learning HOW to learn.

Determined to Help Others

Like many learners with his profile, the journey wasn’t quick or easy. It required persistence, patience, and a tremendous amount of hard work, from both of us. That experience changed the course of his life and it also changed mine. Learning for All was born from that season.

You see, the goal was never simply better grades. It was helping him become a more capable, confident, and independent learner.

That remains one of the most important measures of progress at Learning for All today - whether we are working with a child learning to read, a college student developing greater independence, a professional strengthening executive functioning, or an older adult working on memory and cognitive skills.

Support That Adapts for Every Learner

From One Learner to Learning for All

What began at our kitchen table in 2015 grew into something much larger. As I worked with more learners, I saw the same pattern again and again: capable people struggling not because they lacked intelligence or motivation, but because underlying academic, cognitive, executive functioning, or processing skills were making learning harder than it needed to be.

Over time, Learning for All grew from one parent's search for answers into a multidisciplinary team of Educational Therapists and Cognitive Learning Specialists serving people across the lifespan. Today, we work with children building foundational academic skills, teens and young adults developing independence, professionals working toward greater performance, and adults and seniors strengthening memory, cognition, and everyday functioning.

Meeting Needs Across the Lifespan

What Hasn't Changed

Learning for All has grown, but the belief that started it has not: every person deserves to be understood as an individual.

We look beyond a diagnosis, grade, test score, age, or immediate difficulty to understand the person in front of us—their strengths, their challenges, their goals, and the skills that will help them move forward.

Because when people develop stronger ways to think, learn, organize, remember, reason, and solve problems, the impact can reach far beyond a classroom.
